Rising Sun Workshop is Sydney’s first communal workshop space for motorcycle enthusiasts. It’s a place that provides the space, tools and knowledge to do what ever you can think of to your machine. Whether it is just to change the oil, filter and plugs, or to build your dream custom from a rusted barn find, More like a home away from home, the place is fully equipped with all the tools you need, hydraulic lift bays, and communal work areas.

The model behind Rising Sun Workshop has been community funded to date and was designed to survive independently while mandating to invest back into the community that supports it. The driving mission behind RSW is to actively involve the community in the evolution of the business through direct consultation. The Café and retail offers an added revenue stream that is also aligned with philosophies around community and collaboration, and when successful will ensure the workshop remains affordable for workshop user.

RSW emerged on the scene through a successful crowdfunding campaign through Australian platform Pozible and from that has grown it’s following and community support from 160 members to over 200 before the doors open. They aim to champion and support other businesses to engage in collaborative consumption as the best way to stay connected to their community and give them a say in how the business operates.
