Officine RossoPuro » Big Red
Officine RossoPuro’s ‘Big Red’ is based on a 2012 Buell X1 and, though the donor bike is powered by a motor that shares a lot in common with the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 V-twin, it belts out 95hp thanks to Erik Buell’s high performance ‘Thunderstorm’ cylinder heads.
While it’s a pretty strenuous task to tweak the already menacing X1, Filippo Barbacane pulled it off by building a piece that blends the aggression of the donor bike with Officine RossoPuro’s trademark custom styling. The suspension has been upgraded by ditching the original 41mm Showa forks for beefier 50mm Marzocchis and an Öhlins rear shock. ‘Big Red’ also benefits from a Brembo braking system, cast aluminium wheels, new aluminium subframe to support the custom seat, and a bucketload of hand-made parts. Performance-wise, the engine receives a Jagg oil cooler, with the digital instrumentation coming from Motogadget. Setting off the build is a classic white, red and blue paint job by Carrozzeria Melideo.
