French website Europe1.fr has reported that seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher has been involved in a serious skiing accident in Meribel, France. The legendary race driver lost control and hit a rock with his head and though he was wearing a helmet, the injuries are believed to be serious. Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Grenoble, where Schumacher was transferred, has issued a statement mentioning the former F1 driver’s injuries are severe. He has undergone emergency surgery and his current condition is critical. The statement mentioned “head trauma with coma, which required immediate neurosurgical treatment.”
