Honda CX500 by Kingston Custom
We showed you German builder Kingston Custom beautiful stripped down BMW R75/6 a while ago, and now they are back with this tastefully customised Honda CX500 café racer. Dirk Oehlerking from Kingston ditched all the original plastic bits for proper metal. Even every screw and component was checked, machined, modified or newly made. The V-twin engine receives a a thermo-sensitive coating, with the exhaust manifold getting wrapped with thermal tape.
Numerous parts are handcrafted, including the fairing, bench seat, battery box, fenders and foot brake lever. A modified Harley exhaust complements the custom fabricated rear fender (it’s actually the front fender, but shortened). XT 600 Yamaha footrests, Fehling stub handlebars, Spiegler brake lines, Bates headlight, simplified dash, the list goes on and on. Finally, the Comstar wheels are painted gold – along with the frame, tank and matching gold grips – and matched with a 5.00-16 Avon rear tyre and 4.00-19 front.
