Custom BMW R nineT by Cherry’s Company
You already know that BMW’s spanking new R nineT is a retro-styled roadster with a twist; it comes from the factory as a blank canvas, with several design elements configured to allow the bike to be easily modified, such as separate engine and chassis wiring harnesses and minimal bolts attaching the rear subframe, taillights, and headlight. So it’s simply begging to be modded, then. And that is exactly what the Custom Builders Project intends to do, letting four Japanese customizers work their magic on the model, with absolutely no limits on what they can do.
This particular custom BMW R nineT, dubbed Highway Fighter, comes courtesy of Kaichiro Kurosu’s Cherry’s Company. On the performance front, the bike receives a one-off, cast aluminium cylinder head cover and air cleaner box, K&N air filter, modified exhaust headers and custom silencer. The standard frame gets its rear section modified, and is joined by a modified front fork sourced from a BMW S1000RR. Braking components are more or less standard except for a few custom bits like the front Brembo RCS radial master cylinder and one-off inner rotor. Unique CCI wheels, sized 18″ at the front and 16″ at the rear, are fitted with Metzeler ME880 Marathon rubber.
The exquisitely crafted fairing comes from Nomad Concept, and is accompanied by a custom fuel tank, solo leather seat, clip-on handlebars, LED lights (the turn signals have been deleted) and that stunning black paint job with tasty white accents.
