Honda wins Constructor’s Championship in Sepang
With Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez winning in Malaysia, Honda Motor Company have won a record-extending 63 Constructors Championship across all classes. The 2014 MotoGP Constructors Championship is Honda’s 21st in the premier class – eight in MotoGP and 13 in 500cc – to add to the six 350cc titles, 19 in the 250cc class, 15 in the 125cc class, and two in the 50cc category. Honda riders have won 695 races – across all categories – a number that’s sure to continue growing.
Honda’s 2014 Repsol Honda Team riders, Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, both heavily contributed to the Constructors Championship which is calculated by the result of the highest placed motorcycle of a Constructor, according to the position in the race. To date, they have scored a combined tally of 384 points with Marquez taking Honda’s top result 13 times, Pedrosa twice and Stefan Bradl and Alvaro Bautista also contributing once each.
The Constructors Championship was won by the following point placing finishes (to date): Qatar – Marquez 25, Americas – Marquez 25, Argentina – Marquez 25, Spain – Marquez 25, France – Marquez 25, Italy – Marquez 25, Catalunya – Marquez 25, Netherlands – Marquez 25, Germany – Marquez 25, Indianapolis – Marquez 25, Czech Republic – Pedrosa 25, Great Britain – Marquez 25, San Marino – Pedrosa 16, Aragon – Bradl 13, Japan – Marquez – 20, Australia – Bautista – 10, Malaysia – Marquez 25.
