Continuing its association with motorsports in the UAE, Al-Futtaim Honda has extended its sponsorship of two-time UAE Superbike champion Mahmoud Tannir for the 2014-15 season.

The Al-Futtaim company will also sponsor Ben Menzies who is amongst the youngest competitors in the DMX M1 450cc category. Ben has competed in various local and international competitions across various categories including 85cc and 125cc before moving up to compete in the 450cc.

Bikers Café-sponsored Mahmoud, who will be riding a Honda CBR 600 said: “I am delighted to start this season with continued support from Al-Futtaim Honda. Last year we have managed 2nd in the championship even though the partnership came mid-season, and that showed how competitive my Honda CBR600RR was from the start and how great the whole team was working.

“Hopefully this time and with more experience on the Honda we can fight for the title. We have been involved in the Qatar Superbikes championships lately and finished on the top in the first 2 rounds so far, so the aim is to continue with the same form for the UAE championship. I’d like to thank everyone at Al-Futtaim Honda for their support and am looking forward to a great season.”

Commenting on his sponsorship, Ben said: “I am extremely pleased a brand like Honda is supporting my racing career. Their support has allowed me to focus 100% on the race day and I’m looking forward to a good season.”
