Honda’s own philosophy says, that to dream and never stop exploring is what makes them who they are. What better way to go about business than entering the Paris-Dakar Rally, one of the toughest and most challenging races that tests the mettle of both and machine. Since its inception in 1978, most of the events were from Paris, France, to Dakar, Senegal. It was only recently, in 2009, that the rally was relocated to South America where it has been held ever since. Honda had set out to conquer the infamous rally, and conquer it did, for four straight years from 1986 to 1989.

The first episode in Honda’s “True Adventure” series, “The Dream” recalls the experience of competing, surviving and winning the Dakar rally. Very intriguing to listen to the people who were there, and almost melancholic when you listen to riders describe the loneliness that sets in when riding in the middle of the desert.
