One Punch Mickey by Zadig Motorcycles
We’ve previously featured Zadig MC’s Lisbeth Salander, the Belgian company’s build inspired by the Swedish computer hacker from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie. And now Fabian Giordano is back wit the stunning One Punch Mickey, inspired by the bare knuckled boxing champ brought to life by Brad Pitt in the 2000 Guy Ritchie film Snatch.
As he explains, Snatch is more than just a Hollywood flick for him; it was also inexplicably linked to the personal loss of a friend. It is this darkness, and our perpetual search for faith, that Fabian explores on this bike.
The frame of the 2007 Harley-Davidson XL883 Sportsterwas chopped and modified to house the oil, freeing up the area beneath the seat. Fabian had this space reserved for the sinuous, hand-fabricated exhaust, capped by a pair of brass tips, and featuring thermal thermal insulation tape beneath the heavy bandaging.
To slip into Brad Pitt’s raw Mickey O’Neil character, the forks were dropped through the yokes and the internals were correspondingly upgraded with firm progressive springs. Koni shocks and Roland Sands clip-ons are mated with modified Suzuki GSXR rear sets on custom mounts. The superbly detailed fuel tank was found abandoned in a scrapyard, and Fabian himslef doesn’t know which model it came from. Heavily modified to hold the injection harness and the fuel pump, the tank was restored and painted in red before Fabian destroyed and burnt it to achieve the perfect patination.
Finishing touches include a handcrafted, vintage leather solo seat commissioned from Ends Cuoio in Italy, tinted and aged Brooks leather grip tape, custom fabbed levers and a retro yellow headlight that adds a burst of colour to the monochrome palette.
