Fusar Mohawk
Fusar Mohawk is the flagship component of the American startup’s three-part modular smart helmet system. It’s an action camera, activity tracker, communication device, navigation unit, music player, black box and emergency alert system – all wrapped into one. Built by enthusiasts, Mohawk is designed for easy and seamless use across a wide range of action sports. A Swiss Army knife of smart helmet technology, the Fusar Mohawk is equipped with an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
In the fall of 2012, Ryan Shearman was rear-ended while riding his motorcycle to work in New York City. Following his accident, the mechanical engineer and product developer sought to create a something that would once again make him feel safe on his bike, and FUSAR was born. He enlisted two of his life-long friends and fellow action sports enthusiasts to help him bring smart helmet technology to the masses.
The Fusar smart helmet kit comes with everything you need to turn your favorite helmet into a smart helmet, including the Mohawk, Bluetooth Remote Control (wrist or handlebar), F7 Bluetooth headset, action camera mount and a micro-USB charger. The Mohawk can even detect if you’ve experienced a collision. When a crash has been detected, Mohawk immediately sends out an emergency distress beacon. Our cloud servers then automatically send SMS and email alerts to your emergency contacts. The Fusar app will be free to download for iOS and Android devices in Q1 2016.
