Like most beautiful motorcycle builds, the story of this custom BMW R80 starts with the customer’s dreams. Paul approached the Italian motorcycle builder to get the creative juices flowing, which was when Moto Sumisura’s Frank started getting into the details on the owner’s unique possessions, the main one being an IWC Ocean watch that was crafted in collaboration with Porsche. With the build underway, Frank also discovered that Paul was linked to the GULP name, thereby anointing the motorcycle with the GULP IWC moniker.

The custom BMW’s 800cc mill was totally revamped by Moto Sumisura, along with upgraded forks and suspension. The bigger fuel tank comes from an R100R and the handle bars from an R51, along with custom brake hoses, rearview mirror and an Avon rear tyre. Look carefully, and you’ll also see the Inge-designed fuel filler cap, which replicates the dial of the IWC watch. The classic theme is finally set off with side racks to accommodate a handbag and a leather Brooks toolbox welded to the tank.
