Custom Harley-Davidson Sportster by Studio Motor
You might have already seen our earlier features on Studio Motor’s Patriot and Scorcrambler. ‘The Abandon’ is one of their latest ventures, based on a Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight. Unlike most owners who slap on bits and bobs from the parts catalogue, owner Akhiz Nasution wanted to go the custom way, and make his ride stand out from the rest of Jakarta’s finest. Unsurprisingly, he approached one of the finest builders in town, Studio Motor, with the intention of crafting something inspired by old-school choppers. With the exception of the engine, he wanted everything to be custom-made, and so it was.
Studio Motor added a custom hardtail frame and DNA springer front end, along with DNA Fat Spoke wheels sized 21X3.50″ at the front and 18X4.25″ rear, fitted with 120/70-21 and 180/55-18 Avon rubber respectively. The mini-ape hanger handlebar is joined by chromed controls, Jute head light, offset FTW rear light, custom solo seat and sissy bar, leather saddle bag, EMGO rearview mirrors and a Shark Cycle exhaust system. Post a stunning paint job and airbrush by Comet Studio (it almost resembles a Japanese bobber, doesn’t it?), this custom Harley-Davidson Sportster is all traditional chopper, with a hint of modern touches here and there, and speaks volumes about Studio Motor’s quality of work, as well as the owner’s desire to make a personal statement.
