Bienville Legacy Motorcycle Commission
ADMCi, or the American Design and Master-Craft Initiative, represent the best designers on earth doing the best work they can possibly do. They invest in these people to learn from them, promote the results of their work (IP, patents, and objects), and elevate the need for absolute standards of excellence. As ADMCi observe master craftsmen in motivations, ethos, and habits, they transfer this knowledge into educational programs founded in 21st century craftsmanship. Namely, applying the learnings to design-thinking and user-centered design principles in order to infuse a sense of purpose and pride in the world-making going on all around us today.
Their current commission is the Bienville Legacy by JT Nesbitt, to build three prototypes of the motorcycle he has been thinking about for over seven years, a motorcycle design/build that has captured the imagination of its own industry and throughout the design world.
JT apparently isn’t interested in a sports bike, but something quintessentially American, long wheelbase, supercharged, longitudinal V4 super bike. He wanted, in his words, to answer many of the questions the Wraith had been asking. Featuring a single carbon-fibre leaf spring suspension, the Bienville Legacy is powered by a fuel-injected Motus MV4R supercharged engine that makes in excess of 300 horsepower. The design brief in itself is a pretty lengthy read, which you can do so here.
