AN-BU XS650 Monster
Back In 2013, Koichi Fujita, the man behind AN-BU, built this motorcycle for the Yokohama Hot Rod and Custom Show. Though based on a Yamaha XS650 from the Seventies, displacement was bumped to 750cc as the XS parallel twin was a very reliable powertrain. Accompanying the increased capacity were reworked overhead camshafts, increased compression and an external oil filter for improving oil capacity and cooling.
Gear ratios were revised to fully utilize the newfound power and increase the top speed, while a smaller rear sprocket was added to improve mid-range performance. The upgraded mechanics breathe through the stock carbs, subject to tweaking as well, while a high-flow, 2-in-1 custom-made stainless steel exhaust system, specifically designed by An-bu, was added.
Keeping the AN-BU XS650 Monster in check are an upgraded braking system with choice Grimeca and Brembo components. New 17″ Yamaha XJR rims, Bridgestone BT-023 Battlax tyres and Nitron Racing rear shocks were also installed for enhanced dynamics. Finally, the custom body work receives signature AN-BU fairing and numerous billet details.
