Studio Motor » Revolt
What is the wildest inspiration you’ve had for a custom bike build? Come to think of it, people have crafted machines inspired by a variety of subjects, from airplanes and animals to iPhones and architecture. Subsequently, this particular project by Studio Motor warrants a close look, based on a design by Ignatius Dony, winner of the “SURYANATION MOTORLAND BUILD YOUR INSPIRING BIKE” contest. He wanted to transform the 1968 Honda S90 into something unique, or more specifically, a ‘super slim racer’.
With the engine already rebuilt and most of the components in great shape, Studio Motor had a good starting point for the ‘Revolt’ project. The dynamics department has been taken care of with an alloy swingarm and YSS Z-Series monoshock that holds the rear Chemco 17X3.50″ wheel. The front also recieved a Chemco wheel sized 17X2.50″, with both ends wrapped in Swallow tyres 100/70-17 and 120/70-17 fore and aft. The stock front suspension was replaced with a 32mm telescopic front end and covered with a custom metal cover like a girder fork.
The riding position was revised by fitting Nui clip-on bars and a set of custom mounted rear-set footpegs from Ride It. The original front and rear brakes were swapped in favour of Nissin master cylinder, Nissin calliper and PSM disk. The body was hand-fabricated in-house from 1.2mm galvanized plate, and accompanied by a slim fuel tank, slim seat, rear fender, and an original Honda S90 monocoque frame. The project was topped off with a custom exhaust system and solid red paint job and SURYANATION logos by Komet Studio.
